Keep poker in proportion
TableRival is an educational simulator, not a way to guarantee profit. Chance dominates short-term outcomes, and one result does not prove that a decision was good or bad.
Money limits
- Play only as an adult and where lawful.
- Choose an amount you can lose without affecting bills, savings or anyone who relies on you.
- Never borrow to play and never chase losses with higher stakes or another buy-in.
- Treat the entire poker budget as entertainment spending, not an investment.
Time and state of mind
- Set an end time before the session and take regular breaks.
- Do not play when intoxicated, sleep deprived, highly emotional or under pressure.
- Leave the table after reaching a pre-set loss limit; do not renegotiate it mid-session.
Warning signs
Stop and seek help if poker leads to hidden spending, borrowing, repeated broken limits, conflict, missed responsibilities, sleep problems, anxiety or attempts to recover losses urgently.
Getting help
If controlling play becomes difficult, stop real-money play and contact a licensed health professional or recognised gambling-support organisation in your country. Use device or operator blocking tools where available. If health or safety is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
How to use TableRival well
Judge the reasoning process, not the outcome of one hand. Practise within simulated limits, take notes about decision patterns, and never use feedback as permission to increase real-world stakes.
